Let us remember together

Love swept arrivals in nameless

Spaces, smells of earth and air,

Seedlings and our oldness,

All the vanishings and birthings,

The music in drips and drums,

The fierce rages of the sea, sky,

Our hearts, the sweet humility

In the truth that this is a day

Before the change of death.

That we are beings still

In service to beauty, we

Arrive in grace and leave in

Surrender, it is we who choose

Grief in beeping rooms,

Long struggles, our sufferings.

Let us remember a devotion

To everything we will never see,

But can recognise - like today's

Breeze and sunlight holding birdsong

Too perfect for any use, too abundant,

Gifting, gifting, gifting it to us.
