You are powerful,

You have inside you the breath of every sea,

You are gentle,

Like the sweeping tide across the sand,

You are strong,

Like the muscled folds of all the hills,

You are still,

Like the last rose in winter’s hand,

You are kind,

Like a stranger’s smiling eyes at mine,

You are wise,

Like you’ve lived a hundred different lives,

You are rich,

Like a dog rose harvest wine,

And you, my love, love so well,

That the sun itself would fall in grace,

If I were stars that shone for your embrace.
